Wow! I feel so blessed! Fiverr.com has featured me again on their facebook!

What timing too! It's a real reward for me, considering just this morning I finalized orders on new camera equipment and editing software. LOL...who am I kidding...Totally sick of dealing with the coolpix hesitation, I have been wanting a dslr for friggin years now.

I did some major shopping around as I am not someone who just buys on whim. I had been looking at the Nikon 3100, then the Nikon 5100...thinking about staying with Nikon because of the lens compatibly...my DH has a number of old Nikon lenses...then the Canon D60 was recommended by a friend. Here is the kit at amazon . I looked at that camera real close, read reviews, watch videos about it, and the only thing that concerned me was that there is no auto focus on the video. I looked at the Nikon D7000, and that camera does offer autofocus on the video, but has less megapixels(mp) and less frames per second (fps), and comes with a slightly higher price tag.

The lack of auto focus plays into my use in two areas. Videotaping the Raw Mean Millie Mouthoff gig, and videotaping my dogs running out back.

With regards to the former, I figure the manual focus is going to force me to be better with that gig and really think it out more, and sure, it might be a bit more tedious and I can't fling the camera around like I do now with my point and shoot coolpix, but I think the extra effort will produce higher quality results. I think of the clown on the ice skates. You know those guys that pretend to be clumsy on the ice, they have more skill than the featured skaters. It takes skill to deliver something intentionally clumsy, and so I will still deliver an intentionally amateurish Mean Millie Mouthoff gig, but it will have a cleaner, clearer look to it, and a bit more thought behind the angles used.

The dogs out in back? I think a better product for all their running would actually be stills captured at a high speed, and the 60D can most definitely do that, especially when coupled with the SanDisk Extreme® Pro™ SDHC™ UHS-I Card - 16GB.

Ahh yes, the issue of which memory card to purchase took me the better part of the afternoon and evening to determine. I have a SanDisk (SD) now for my coolpix and never had not one issue with it, so I was leaning towards SD anyway, and then I read that the ones amazon is offering, the Extreme class 10, are actually discontinued items that better photog houses like B&H are not even carrying anymore. That sold me on the Pro, and I bought it direct from the SD site, as a lot of what is sold on eBay are counterfeit. 

I am also outfitting my gear to include:

A multi-coated UV filter...why put cheap glass on expensive glass, right? Also, some of those cheaper glasses can not only corrupt your image with glare and ghosts, they can corrupt your lens, in that, when you screw on the filter, poor engineering of the cheap filters can scratch your expensive lens...not taking any chances.

A remote switch I read that the 60D can make internal noise and it could be picked up on the video. Again, not taking any chances, really looking to deliver high quality.

A better tripod ...Oh gosh, I can not tell you how many times I have fought with my 40 year old one to remain level. Legs slip into the socket...Grrr...

A lens hood. Never tried one, but for $6, I thought why not keep it on hand for indoor/outdoor use to deal with glare.

As far as the interchangeability of the Nikon lens onto the Canon body, I can do that. There are adapters, and showing that to my husband, put his mind to rest on that aspect of this major purchase.

Finding out about this Fiverr.com feature was the icing on the cake today! I am really loving Fiverr...totally changed my life...and it's good to feel the reciprocation of that love. xoxo MWAH MWAH!

Record Breaking!

Wow! I look back at the work I did yesterday! In terms of just gigs, not actual bookings, I recorded, edited and delivered:

2 HAPPY BIRTHDAY gigs

I love being that busy! I wish I was that busy every day!!

I stress "number of gigs", rather than actual bookings, because actual bookings refers to a situation where someone actually books like 4 gigs to pay for one performance. In terms of that number, I delivered 12.

Some of those buyers actually owe me some gigs because some performances ran longer than originally paid for...you know, after script revisions and the buyer says "Oh, and say this too" routine...so I hope I do get compensated down the line for the time I put into their video.

I don't hold videos hostage though, awaiting an additional payment. They got their video. That is just how I am. If they are ethical, and appreciate my work, they will pay me. If not, then that shows what type of business person they are and I probably will not elect to work for them again, should they request me too.

So overall, one of my more productive days on Fiverr.com. I really enjoyed it and looking forward to more days like that.

It really does bring me joy to think that someone, who is running late on a birthday present, for their Mom in Malaysia, comes to me and asks me to sing and deliver a special message to their Mom...I mean, how can I possibly make that person wait 4 days?? It's just not going to happen...not with me it's not. Delivered in under 6 hours. Hope I brought some smiles to Malaysia yesterday...

Sony Vegas

Delivered my first 3 gigs today, edited with Sony Vegas. WOW! What a difference it makes. Really happy I have a friend who took the time to point out to me how dreadful my audio was...I never knew how tinny it sounded. I always edit with the volume down low so my dear husband doesn't have to hear the same thing over and over again, and that aspect never really hit me before...but last night it did, and I am glad moved in a direction to correct it and provide my customers with a cleaner video. Wow. I just can not get over the difference.

Basic conditions applying to all finished work

Any gigs ordered, paid for, delivered on and then payment canceled, CAN NOT BE USED, privately or publicly. If video/audio is purchased and delivered, and then the buyer decides to cancel payment, after delivery, the video/audio delivered may not be used in a private or public fashion. Buyer may not use, post, publish or take any action whatsoever in distributing, or using , the video/audio in whole or in part.

Ownership of rights are shared between the person (entity) who bought the video, and DUSK Enterprises, Inc., who created and produced the video. Customers are granted the same rights as DUSK Enterprises is, in that the buyer can use the footage as they want, and DUSK Enterprises, Inc. can use the footage as DUSK wants.

That about wraps it up. Do what you want with the video, manipulate it, alter it, whatever...and I have the same rights to do the same, although, I will mute/blur last names and company names, upon request.

On other gigs I offer, I am am very stringent in protecting the work I deliver. On those gigs I require youtube upload only. However, with these gigs I grant greater latitude, because typically, I am not using another artists copyrighted work i.e. Music Samples, Sound Effects, etc... (I have been granted permission to use any elements I include in a video, however, I do not hold rights to pass the original artist's copyright onto another party.)

I require that you only use my image and/or audio in THIS video only. You can not manipulate my image and/or audio, or create pictures/images/audio recordings from the finished work you are provided, without my expressed written consent. To do so, would violate the licensing agreement that you agreed to upon purchase. Basically, I am giving you limited use of the video, however, DUSK Enterprises, Inc., still maintains all copyrights for it and/or any authorization to use it.

My licensing agreement holds that you will not manipulate the video in any way, nor will you create another video around my video. For example, if you sought to create a video titled, “All the performers of Fiverr.com”, you could not include my video in the video you create, without my expressed written permission. Another example would be if you wanted to enter my finished work in a contest, to do so would be a violation this licensing agreement.

My licensing agreement also holds that you will not create still images and/or audio from the video. For example, if you wanted to lift an image and/or audio from the video and incorporate it into a banner, avatar, track, sample, that would be a violation of the licensing agreement.

I own all rights to take the finished work provided to you and alter, manipulate in any fashion I want, and use it to further advertise my services on Youtube or other such sites. I will, however, mute any company names out of the video, if, and only if, you did not grant me permission prior, to upload the video on Youtube for you.  I will not use any video/audio/images of your original material you submitted to me. 

No watermark, no intro/outro credits will appear on the finished work, except for the Happy Birthday and You Are My Sunshine gigs. If a music or sound effect element is requested, then an ending credit may apply.

Youtube Conditions

With regards to Youtube uploading. The licensing agreement with me, on this particular grouping of gigs, does NOT prevent you from uploading the video to your own website or Youtube channel. You can upload the finished work, unaltered, non-manipulated, in it's entirety, onto your youtube channel. I require you to click on “Standard Use”copyright, rather than "Creative Commons" copyright.

If you choose to monetize the video, you must agree to annotate the video with:

in “note” form, font size “18”, “white” background, “black” font color, with note placed somewhere within the upper 1/3^rd of the screen, for at a minimum, of 15 seconds. 

I also have the right to upload the video to the OldBittyGrandma channel, and after upload, I am free to monetize this video. I may, but am not obligated to also offer, at the time of Youtube monetization, to include for my customer, the opportunity to annotate the video for a time frame up to 10 seconds. This annotation can include a link to their website, their company name, most any short message to appear on top of the video is available.

If character script templates exist, which for many of the characters they do, then that script template must be used, and can not be altered from the final script. For example, the Fortune Teller gig has a script template. I refuse to perform the gig without being able to say the intro and outro of the template. I refuse to perform the gig, without using my Fortune Teller name LaVonnawanna Dahlah  .

Video/Audio Editing
